New techniques!

So I tried stenciling with royal icing on fondant. And for the most part I was REALLY successful, but there are obviously some kinks to work out and some more practice to do. But overall I am very pleased with the outcome of the cake! By the way it is a Hummingbird cake with Cream Cheese icing....YUM!

Welcome Home cake!

One my friends asked me to make this cake for a friend of hers who is returning from China. You can see the cake I made for her departure to China earlier in this blog. Lauren wanted the cake to be themed USA and then I put the pandas on the top since this is what she was studying over in China. The cake is a white almond sour cream cake with a strawberry filling...yum!

Nicholas Lodge Open House

Earlier in March Nicholas Lodge had an open house that was Easter and Spring themed. I was able to learn a few new things about decorating cupcakes and cookies. I plan to try these techniques on my Easter cake...once I do I will post pictures. Also during the open house Scott one of the other instructors, did a chocolate demonstration with some of the newer chocolate tools. Overall worth the drive and the 5 dollars~

Jessie's Birthday Cake

I made this cake for a patient in the hospital. I made the cake about 3 weeks ago, it has taken a little longer to post this picture.
